It's important to note that the original tone of "不" is the fourth tone, but when it is followed immediately by another fourth-tone character, it changes to the second tone (e.g., 不对 bù duì). It differs from "没/没有" (méi/méiyǒu) in that "没/没有" is mainly used to negate the completion or continuation of an action, or to negate "有" (to have), while "不" focuses more on negating general, habitual, or unfulfilled actions/states.
